What Happens Next?
After finalising your booking details and completing the check-out process, your host will be notified and a payment pre-authorisation will be initiated using your listed payment method for the booking amount. The host has 24 hours to review and respond to your request. If your host is unable to accommodate your booking, the pre-authorised payment will be fully refunded.
Upon acceptance of your booking request, the pre-authorised charge is processed, confirming your booking. You can view your booking on your Rental Dashboard and communicate with your host as needed.
Adding Additional Drivers
You can nominate up to 3 additional drivers per booking. Each additional driver must have their own evee account and complete the verification process by confirming their details in the 'Personal Info' page.
For guidance on adding drivers, please refer to the article: Adding Additional Drivers.
Security Deposit:
A security deposit will be authorised and held 24 hours prior to rental commencement. Please ensure sufficient funds are available in your chosen payment method. This deposit is released 48 hours post-booking, unless damage is reported, in which case the deposit is retained until resolution.
More information can be found in: How Is My Security Deposit Processed?
Plan Your Trip:
For long distance or regional travels, it's crucial to plan your charging sessions. Refer to the Plugshare map for charging station locations and our 'Charging Guide' for charging instructions.
Reduce Your Damage Liability with evee Protect:
In case of vehicle damage during your rental, damage liability fees may apply. These fees may vary based on the market value of the rented car. You can find these details in the 'Rental Coverage' section of the car listing page.
For additional peace of mind, consider purchasing additional coverage with evee Protect, an in-house additional coverage that reduces your damage liability cost to $0 in the instance of damage occurring during your booking.
For more information, please refer to the evee Protect support article.
On the Day of Your Rental:
Have your driver's licence ready - The host will verify your identity based on your drivers licence.
Arrive on time - Meet the host at the agreed location and time for vehicle collection. Your host will guide you on car operation and answer any questions that you may have.
Take photos of the car - Take as many photos as possible to document the state of the car before and after the rental. This is important in instance of an accident or damage claim. Keep the record for at least 30 days from the end of the rental. The evee handover checklist can assist you in this process.
