The Process for Renters:
Welcome to evee, your friendly neighbourhood car-sharing platform! We provide a space for hosts to share their electric cars with our community members. To start your journey and make a booking with evee, follow these five straightforward steps:
Step One: Creating Your evee Account:
As a renter, your first step is to register for an account and complete the verification process. This is necessary for you as well as any additional drivers you wish to include in your booking.
Refer to the following support article for a step-by-step guide on creating and verifying your evee account.
Step Two: Searching for Your Rental Car:
With your account verified, return to the homepage to begin your vehicle search. In the 'Location' field, input the suburb or city where you plan to pick up the vehicle, then specify your travel dates and times. If your dates are flexible, activate the 'I'm Flexible' option to view all vehicles in your selected region.
Click the 'Search' icon to start exploring available vehicles. You'll see a map with price tags for each listing, and a list view on the left. The displayed price is the total cost for your selected dates. If you're using the 'I'm Flexible' option, it'll show the daily hire rate.
Step Three: Placing a Booking Request:
When you find a vehicle that suits your needs, click on the listing for more details. Before you send a booking request to the host, ensure you have checked:
- The total mileage included matches your travel plans. (Additional fees may apply for exceeding the included distance)
- The return charge level expectation. (Returning the vehicle with less charge than agreed may result in additional fees)
- The 'Pick-up & Return location' - If you need delivery and the host offers it, verify your locations.
- Any additional expectations listed in the 'Description' section of the listing.
When you're ready to proceed, click 'Book This Car' to confirm your information and review your booking. You can also send a message to your host with more details about your rental request. The more information you provide, the more likely your host will accept your request.
If you have any coupon or promotional codes, you can redeem them on this page before sending your request. After finalizing your request, the total cost will be pre-authorised on your bank statement. Your host then has 24 hours to review your request.
If your host approves the request, your pre-authorised payment will be processed. If they cannot accommodate the booking and decline your request, you'll receive a full refund for the pre-authorised charge.
Step Four: Arranging the Handover
Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive an email with the host's contact information. You can then contact the host directly to arrange the specific pick-up location and ask any other questions which you may have.
24 hours before you pick up your rental, a security deposit will be pre-authorised on your payment method.
On the day of the handover, remember to take photos of the vehicle from all angles to document its condition and note any pre-existing damage.
Step Five: Returning Your Rental
At the end of your rental period, return the vehicle to the agreed location. If you anticipate being late, notify your host in advance. Late returns may result in a late fee.
After returning the vehicle, take additional photos to document its condition. If no damage is reported to the rental 48 hours after your rental ends, your security deposit will be refunded to the original payment method.
You will receive a follow-up email requesting to review your rental experience. We encourage you to share your experience to help your host build up their listing.
