Damage Resolution Process
In the instance of damage occurring to the car during your rental, please report this to your host as soon as possible.
Depending on the severity of the damage, it may either be resolved privately between the host and renter, (Minor damage) or require an insurance claim to be lodged to complete repairs. (Major damage)
If your host reports damage to the vehicle, evee will capture the security deposit amount previously authorised and contact you to initiate an assessment of the damage. During the assessment process, evee remains as a neutral third party between the host and renter, reviewing evidence from both parties to determine liability.
If it is found that you are not at fault for the damages, the security deposit amount captured will be refunded back to you at the conclusion of the assessment.
Minor Damage:
If the damage is considered minor and does not require an insurance claim, your host will organise for private repairs or touch-ups to be completed and this amount will be on-charged as an extra charge within the booking. A copy of the tax invoice for the repairs will be provided by your host.
Minor damages do not need to be reported to evee and can be resolved directly between the renter and host. However if you require a copy of your rental agreement, please reach out to evee's Support Team at support@evee.com.au referencing your booking number and we can provide this for you.
The following damages are considered as minor:
- Small dents or dings that don't affect the overall shape of the vehicle and can be repaired with touch-up services.
- Scratches and paint chips that don't expose bare metal and can be fixed with touch-up paint or polishing.
- Bumper scuffs that can be repaired through a touch-up service.
- Minor interior damage resolved with touch-ups or small part replacements.
- Windscreen chips, cracks and replacements.
- Rim damage and wheel scrapes.
- Damage to the charging equipment supplied by your host.
Major Damage:
Damage is considered major when the issues go beyond cosmetic repair and refers to more significant and severe incidents. Major damage can impact the safety, functionality, and structural integrity of the vehicle.
The following damages are considered as major:
- Frame or structural damage which can significantly compromise the vehicle's overall integrity, performance and safety.
- Extensive dents, crumpled panels, or areas where the car's body is significantly bent or misshapen.
- Major Interior damage requiring integral part replacement. (eg. console replacement)
